Project of Rehabilitating the Unemployed & Granting Loans
This year, with the assistance of some local and international NGOs, we were able to implement our rehabilitating training project for the unemployed and supported by the project of lending the needy, the poorest. Cadre of the project included (manager of project, supervisors for the project, members of project evaluation committee, financial manager, coordinators of our branches for field following-up for each project, and some trainers of Projects Department in the Foundation).
The project has been implemented in several phases:
First: The amendments to the training and rehabilitation curriculum adopted by Department of Small and Medium Projects, in line with the level of applicants (cultural level, and level of projects since they are closer to the micro – projects).
Second: The phaseof nomination by our branches in the governorates, taking into consideration several criteria for nomination as follows: (the poorest, the needy, more qualified for establishing and managing a project, supports one family or more, the confidence and guarantee by the institution nominated to ensure repayment of loans later.
Third: The phase of preparation, training and rehabilitation for five days per group at the level of governorate, through the training program which: (encourages private projects, appreciates the competency, push towards self-esteem and confidence, and then studying and surveying the market, building the culture of marketing and competition, the capable of establishing and managing a private project and providing a convincing and accurate feasibility study).
Fourth: The project should be provided according to the training program, and subjected to a detailed study by the committee of project evaluation, then meet him to inquiry over the proposal submitted, and correct mistakes as possible, offering advices necessary for the success of project, then accepting some projects matching the conditions and ruling out the others.
Fifth: Phase of lending by providing the loans according to the project submitted and after the approval of project evaluation committee, then determining a work plan for the project, timing the opening, timing the starting, then timing the repayment which is after 17 months from the date of loan receipt.
Sixth: Phase of following – up field visits by the institution nominated, officials of branches, manager of project. And documenting all these phases by video and photograph shooting.
There are 60 projects had been approved for lending the unemployed in various cities and different fields, such as:
1. Offices for copying and printing.
2. Workshop for assembling and processing child's bicycles.
3. Taxi.
4. Acts of decoration and secondary ceilings.
5. Shop for selling clothes.
6. Producing steel template (concrete).
7. Marketing of mobile devices.
8. Workshop for repairing cars.
9. Market for selling ready foodstuff.
10. Shop for selling spare parts of cars.
11. Workshop for repairing the electrical appliances.
12. Workshop for maintaining the electronic devices.
