Program of Special Needs Children

Summary:

In a new step at Almortaqa level and other rest NGOs, Almortaqa now roams new world and other significant class from Iraqi community, as it was recently able to complete a project for the special needs children (slow-understanding) included (35) children from Anbar – Falluja.

The class of special needs children is considered an indifferent and marginalized by the community leaders whether governmental or civilian, no surprisingly this class likes other Iraqi class that prejudiced its right and neglected its role due to the security deterioration and degradation of the educational level prevailing in the country.  

The most important goals and objectives behind the implementation of this program are:

Overall goal:

Caring and educating the class of special needs children (slow-understanding), focusing on them, and how to deal with them as it is a marginalized class in this community.

Sub-goal:

1.     Spreading the culture of special needs education among Iraqi people.

2.     Upgrading the special needs children level.

3.     Strengthening the role of NGOs to take their role in caring the special needs children.

4.     Enhancing the role of Almortaqa Foundation in society as it is the Iraqi foundation pioneered in building a civil society capable of serving marginalized groups.

Cadre has been selected to manage this program for the duration of its implementation was:

((project manager, school headmaster, educational advisor, project coordinator, trainers, accountant, photographer, managing official, service worker))

For the mechanism of implementing this program, it has been obtained to support some of the foundations (Humanitarian Relief Foundation, Muslim Hands, Al-Khair Association for Widows and Orphans, Falluja Public Hospital) in addition to the approval of Public Directorate of Anbar Education \ Preparation & Training.

The program lasted for two full months as of 1/7/2008 to 1/9/2008, where it is concluded with a large celebration on 6/9/2008 at the Hall of Businessmen in Falluja and attended by a large number of representatives of international and local organizations, satellite channels, a number of representatives of Education Directorate, Falluja Public Hospital, educational staff, children and their families, it has been submitted a research by the Educational Advisor (Dr. Iman Al-Darkuzi) presented the reality of special needs children in Falluja and how to deal with them in society, and gifts were distributed to all persons in addition to honoring the staff and distributing gifts to children. The celebration was ended with a pictorial exhibition specialized in student activities through the implementation of the program. Note that the spreading of the idea of educating and interesting in special needs children (slow-understanding) and delivering it to all governorates of the country is what Almortaqa is seeking to, we ask God Almighty the aid.
