Active Learning

In order to keep step of the age’s tremendous scientific  progress in the field of education supported by modernized technologies and tools which eventually help create pupil-friendly school environment where pupil can observe , discover , communicate with others and enjoys the education process as a whole, A program has been set to develop education strategies. The program has been adopted for the first time in Iraq by Iraqi Al-Mortaqa Foundation for Human Development .the program is deemed underpinning to succeed any quality system. The education system can’t achieve high quality outputs unless dramatic change takes place with regard to the role of teacher in the education process at which he should turn from prompter into participant and facilitator , from mainly sender into transceiver ,from the  source of knowledge into a source of it and skills developer for pupils.

The Program’s Objectives:

1.Identifying pupils’ learning manners, taking into consideration individual differences, then, determining educational needs accordingly.

2.Varying learning methods and studying active learning techniques to apply them in education process.

3.Redesigning and redrafting textbooks curriculum to ensure achieving the objectives of the program.

4.Actualizing pupil’s role in the education process through adopting participation principle in learning and distancing from prompting learning.

5.Integrating pupil’s daily life skills into learning process along with skills of activation, motivation and facilitation.

6.Raising teacher’s motivation towards professional development, and creating cooperative atmosphere among same teaching staffs and different teaching staffs as well.

7.Discovering talented educators in terms of learning strategies and activating their roles the way it ensures serving the project and meeting its requirements.

8.Turning the supervision role into steering and supporting one to teacher rather than monitoring and criticizing one.

9.Enabling school administrating staff setting purposeful plan for the school which creates performance harmony for teacher, supervisor and school administrating staff.

10. Identifying evaluation mechanisms, its types and the purpose behind it.

11. Disseminating awareness inside education community on learning strategies and their impact on education process.

Features of the program:

•The program is delivered by experts and trainers certified by international academies and institutions.

•Each participant will be granted important training sources and distinguished training package.

•Each participant will be gifted DVD containing hundreds of digital books as sources he can refer to later.

•The program doesn’t adopt prompting method. It adopts participatory manners, interaction workshops and smart exercises.

•The program relies on supportive workshops, real cases studies and forming workgroups by participants.

•Participants can set integrated strategic plan on school management, actualizing supervision and motivating classroom.

•Participants will be able to have program effect measuring tools through (measuring drop out percentage, success percentage, considering pupil’s rights, and improving learning environment).

•By the end of program, participants will present their training shows on how to run active classrooms and set plans which will be assessed by program’s monitors and training organizers .

The program’s outputs:

•Improving learning environment to turn schools into friendly learning place.

•Promoting education process and developing the performance of administration, supervision and teaching.

•Building self and daily life skills and integrating them into learning skills.

•Pupil’s role will not limit to receiving information only, but it will extend to acting as researcher and source of information as well.

• Reducing drop out percentage during the school year, and reducing the number of school age pupils who are not enrolled to school.

•Controlling pupil’s rights violation and exposure to physical and psychological abuse.

•Discovering and developing pupils’ and teachers’ talents the way it better serves society development.

•Teaching staffs will have classroom participatory leadership skills along with effective classroom management.

•Actualizing the role of PTA and having them integrated with school administrations and teaching staffs as well as contributing in society development.
